The GIS/GPS program prepares students for careers in fields that rely on the gathering and interpretation of geographic information such as: governmental agencies, economic developers, land use planners, architects and builders, retail business and industries. A growing number of industries are recognizing GIS and GPS as an integral part of their job. The latest labor market report indicates that there is a viable job market for GIS and GPS and these technologies will continue to find increasing application across a broad array of businesses and industries. Students who have earned a certificate in the GIS/GPS program are prepared for entry to intermediate level position in the GIS/GPS field.
