Diablo Valley College’s English Program offers a wide variety of classes including, literature, creative writing, and composition and reading. Studying English can help you develop your writing style and strengthen your critical thinking, reasoning and communication abilities. Read more. . .

Students enrolled in the English program also have the opportunity to gain leadership skills by becoming a tutor in our Learning Center or providing classroom support as a Supplemental Instruction Leader.

  • Associate in arts degree - English
  • Associate in arts for transfer - English

After completing the program, many of our students transfer to four-year universities. Studying English trains you to look at things from multiple perspectives. These skills are highly valued in many industries.
