Psychology degree pathways

Majoring in psychology is a great option if you are interested in a career that is dedicated to solving human problems. Studying Psychology gives you the opportunity to learn about behavior and mental processes.

DVC offers an associate degree in arts for transfer in psychology

We know that navigating degrees and certificate requirements can be tricky. Once you have enrolled at DVC, you can schedule an appointment with a counselor to discuss which option is best for you.

Although some students are able to get an entry-level position after completing the program, most students transfer to a four-year university to gain a bachelor's degree.

Career options with additional education:

  • Psychotherapist
  • School psychologist
  • College professor
  • Researcher
  • Counselor
  • Administrator

For more information on possible career options, please visit the Career Centerschedule an appointment with a counselor, or contact one of our faculty and staff members. Please note that you cannot meet with a counselor or staff member until you are enrolled at DVC.
