Admission Procedures for
High School Students
Step
1 Submit an Admissions Application and a Special Admission Recommendation
Form to Office of Admissions and
Records.
Step 2 Submit official transcripts.
Step 3 Apply for Financial Aid and Extended Opportunity Program and
Services (EOPS) as necessary.
Step 4 Take Math and English Assessment tests.
Step 5 Register for classes (Juniors and Seniors register by telephone, online, on
or after your assigned
date. Students below the 11th grade must
register in person once classes begin.) Graduating Seniors enroll in
Counseling 105, Orientation to College.
Step 6 Pay your fees.
Step 7 Obtain DVC student identification card.

DVC Admissions Application
All high school students must file a new application for admission and
Special Admission Recommendation form every semester.
Special Admission Recommendation Form
Concurrently enrolled high school students must fill out the Special
Admission Recommendation Form each semester.
Assessment
Tests The following students have satisfied all or part of assessment
testing.
English - Students who have completed a college English course,
or
have earned a score of 3 on the English portion of the College Board
Advance Placement English test.
Math - Student who have completed a college math course,
or
have earned the score of 3 on the math portion of the College Board
Advance Placement Math test (AB or BC).
Assessment is a 2 hour session
that measures your current skills in reading, writing, and math. These
tests will meet prerequisites for certain courses and will help your advisor in
recommending the most appropriate courses for your educational goals. Once
you have completed the assessment process you are eligible to attend a
Counseling 105 course. Please contact the

Select a Course
Courses are listed in DVC's print and online schedule of classes. The most current
course information will be in the online schedule though. Some courses have
prerequisites that restrict enrollment. To
enroll in blocked prerequisites you must either:

have completed the prerequisite at DVC or another college (official transcript required) or,
-
be currently taking the prerequisite
course at DVC, CCC, or LMC or
-
challenge the prerequisite (see the
Schedule of Courses for more details)
Orientation & Advisement
Telephone Registration
All Junior and Senior students are eligible to register
by telephone on or after their registration appointment time.
See the Schedule of Courses for specific instructions. To receive a
priority registration the above steps must be
completed. Open Registration dates are listed on the
DVC
Calendar page and phone registration information is available
in the print schedule and
online.
Transcripts High School and College transcripts may be
required to meet prerequisites for some classes. Check the course schedule or catalog. When
required submit transcripts and
prerequisite
form to Admissions/Records office.
