EMERITUS COLLEGE 18th BIRTHDAY LUNCHEON
Monday, September 21, Noon
Mi Casa Restaurant, 2195 N. Broadway, Walnut Creek

Join us for a delicious selection of Mexican and Central American cuisine at our own private party to celebrate our 18th birthday. Mi Casa will open especially for this social event/ fundraiser. Seating is limited so reserve early by calling Emeritus at 906-9105. Choices include Seafood Paella (clams, mussels, shrimp and scallops over saffron rice), Chanhco Asado (grilled pork with fried plantains), or Chicken Fajitas. Come hungry as healthy portions will be served!

Diablo Valley College Arena Theater

A one-of-a-kind cabaret show, featuring the vocal styling of Suzi Wolfe, a professional singer and member of the Vagabond Players. You will hear music from pop to old favorites, country to Broadway classics. This songstress will soothe your ears with her beautiful voice. A variety of songs, including favorites like Liza Minelli's New York, New York, and Patsy Cline's Crazy, are interspersed with anecdotes and comedy!

DIABLO VALLEY COLLEGE GARDEN TOUR
Friday, September 18, 10 a.m.- Noon
Diablo Valley College, Pleasant Hill Garden

Enjoy a tour and tea in the DVC garden. You will see many varieties of flowers, fruits, herbs, and vegetables. Bring your garden questions and gather herbs, flowers, and edibles to take home. Garden paths are fully accessible and there are shaded seating areas if you want to bring your lunch and stay awhile.

Instructor: Karen Talbot teaches the Adaptive Horticulture class and has taught at DVC since 1999.

TAO HOUSE TOUR

Eugene O’Neill, America's only Nobel Prize-winning playwright, lived isolated from the world in his Danville home. He wrote his final and most memorable plays at Tao House, including: The Iceman Cometh, Long Day's Journey Into Night and A Moon for the Misbegotten. Learn more about O'Neil and his work. Meet at the Museum of San Ramon Valley, at the corner of Prospect and Railroad Avenue, Danville, and take the free shuttle.

ART FROM OUT OF THIS WORLD TOUR
Friday, October 16, 10 a.m.-Noon
Saint Mary's College, Hearst Art Gallery

This exhibit explores the relationship between space, science, and art, and brings you both real and imagined images of landscapes from our solar system. You will see highly detailed photographs taken by an interplanetary robotic explorer and satellites, such as the Mars Rover and Voyager 1 and 2, as well as dramatic views from the surfaces as imagined by some of the best-known space artists of our day.

Docent: Heidi Donner of St. Mary’s College will lead us on a private tour before the gallery opens to the public.
