DIGITAL ARTIST: BERT MONROY Monroy spent 20 years in the advertising industry as creative director for various agencies including his own. Monroy is considered one of the pioneers of digital art. He has taught at a number of colleges on the East Coast and in the Bay Area and holds regular classes at Pixar and ILM. TAO HOUSE TOUR Eugene O’Neill, America's only Nobel Prize-winning playwright lived isolated from the world in his Danville home, Tao House. He wrote his final and most memorable plays; The Iceman Cometh, Long Day's Journey Into Night and A Moon for the Misbegotten. Meet at the Museum of San Ramon Valley, 205 Danville Rd. BLACK DIAMOND MINE TOUR We will tour the Hazel/Atlas mine and the historic regional preserve that contains the remains of several coal mines. We will see Rose Hill Cemetery, and the site of five long-gone towns: Nortonville, Somersville, Stewartville, West Hartley and Judsonville. MOUNTAINS APART: MT. FUJI / MT. DIABLO Mt. Fuji and Mt. Diablo- are a striking part of their respective locales. Many artists have been drawn to these mountains, sometimes for their sheer beauty, other times to bolster historical, spiritual or environmental messages.
