Athletics has a storied history of success since 1950. In order to honor
the past 57 years of competition and achievement, we must solicit private
donations for this Hall of Fame induction ceremony on an annual or bi-annual
basis. Please send your contributions (checks only please) to: Steve
Ward, Athletic Director; Diablo Valley College, 321 Golf Club Road; Pleasant
Hill, CA 94523. A trust account has been established for the DVC

Athletic Hall of Fame Third Induction Ceremony, February 28th, 2008
DVC
announced it's voting for the 2008 Athletic Hall of Fame...eight individuals
were selected to be honored at the February dinner and ceremony at the Norseman
restaurant on campus.

Bob Borghesani
|
1953-55 1st team All Conference in 3
sports: Basketball, Football and Baseball. Went on to play
basketball and baseball at San Jose State; pitched both right and
left-handed. |
| Bob Green |
1972-74 Heavyweight Wrestler who won
state championship and was All-American in his sophomore year. Went on
to Colorado State on a full scholarship. Freshman year was 29-12-1
and sophomore, 42-2-1. |
| Tiffany Edwards Panfili |
1991 All-Conference shortstop and team
leader in home runs for Softball. In 1991 in Track, won the State
Championship in Javelin. In 1992 won the State Championship in
Heptathlon; her Javelin mark of 162'2" was an Olympic qualifying mark;
received a scholarship to Cal-Berkeley for Track. |
| Liz Scheetz Seymour |
1987-88 Swimmer; won 3 state events
both years; was All-American in 6 events both years; set state and
national record in 50 Breast. |
| Broderick Perkins |
DVC Baseball 1973-74; All-Golden Gate
Conference in 1974, transferred to St. Mary's; drafted by San Diego
Padres in 12th round in 1976...played in major leagues with Padres
1978-82 and Cleveland Indians in 1983-84. |
| Jim Flores |
DVC Baseball 1976-77' All-Golden Gate
Conference Infielder both years, hit game winning grand slam on 3-2
pitch, 2 outs in 9th inning of state championship game in 1977 giving
DVC a 11-10 victory. Transferred to Fresno State and played
professionally in minor leagues for three seasons. |

DVC Baseball 1988-89. First team
All-Golden Gate Conference both years; 1989 GGC Player of the Year; only
player in school history to hit over .400 both years in conference play;
.404 (1988) and .422 (1989); transferred to Lewis & Clark/Shortstop. |
| Leo Biederman |
DVC Football in 1973 - tackle.
Played at Cal 3 years, drafted by Browns in 1978 where he played in all
16 games. Also played pro in Canada. |
