Volunteers Needed Now!

How do I get started as a volunteer?

1.  All volunteer positions are posted online on the DVC Online Job System.

If you have not used the system before, go to "Click here to Register" (just below the Login button).

2.  When you find a volunteer position:

          a.  Print the information.

b.  Contact the agency and set up an appointment/interview.

c.  Go to the appointment on time and appropriately dressed.

3.  If the agency offers you the position and you accept:

a.  Pick-up the Volunteer Agreement Form.

b.  Both you and your supervisor complete and sign the Volunteer Agreement Form and return within 7 days.

c.  Pick up and read the Volunteer Handbook.  This has important information on how to be a successful volunteer.

d.  Complete the Volunteer Timesheet by logging your hours and activities. You and your supervisor should sign, and return by the due date (usually at the end of the term).

What happens next?

  • Keep track of your hours and activities each day on your Volunteer Timesheet.

  • At the end of the term, return the signed Timesheet, verifying the number of hours completed, in order to receive a Certificate of Completion.

Congratulations! Pick up your Certificate of Completion!
