Machine technology
This program is designed for three categories
of students: those wishing to enter the metal machining industry, those wishing
to become an apprentice machinist or mechanical technician in research and
development, and those wishing to transfer to four-year institutions, and obtain
a degree in mechanical engineering, tool design engineering, manufacturing
engineering, metallurgy, or manufacturing processes.
To earn a certificate of achievement, students
must complete each course used to meet a certificate requirement with a “C” grade
or better and an overall GPA of 2.5 or better in the coursework required for the
certificate. Required courses are available in the day and some during the
evening.
