You must type 15 wpm using correct fingering to enroll in Web Design and Python Programming classes. Through practice lessons, tests and fun games, beginners will learn location and fingering for all keys and practice for speed and accuracy. (The same information is covered in Session 1 and Session 2 of Keyboarding).
This class will introduce students to the basics of the two main tools used to create Internet web pages, HTML (Hypertext Mark-up Language) and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). Students must type 15 wpm using correct fingering, have good keyboarding skills and have general Windows skills. Experience using the internet will help. Prerequisite: 15 words per minute typing.

Scratch makes it easy to create interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art, and share these creations on the web. Alice is an innovative 3D programming environment that makes it easy to create an animation for telling a story, playing an interactive game, or a video to share on the web. Learn to program using the popular Python language (http://www.python.org). Python is used for creating games, websites, and much more. Unlike Scratch and Alice which are primarily learning environments, Python is a real programming language used by professionals (Google, for example, has lots of Python programmers).
