Band, Beginning and Intermediate Ever want to learn to play a
musical instrument? A second instrument? This class is designed
to meet the needs of students with less than two years experience on
their instruments. Learn music skills and knowledge through
demonstration, activities, and hands-on experience. A good head-start
or continuation for the school year. Students must provide their own
instruments.

Traditional band instruments only.)
Designed for those with at
least two years or more experience on their instruments. An
emphasis on skill improvement, sight reading, and musicianship on all levels
using activities, method books, and sheet music. A great and fun way
to keep playing between school years. (Please indicate

Summer Singers (Choir) - Second Session Only Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do!
Warm up your vocal cords and join in the fun and excitement of singing.
Emphasis is on vocal warm-up, skill improvement, sight-singing, musicianship
and music appreciation. This class is available to all ages and
singing levels.
Orchestra, String- First Session Only Continue your skills or learn to play a string instrument. violin, viola, cello, or string bass. Students will learn and review music notation, instrument care, and beginning string techniques while learning level-appropriate music for end-of-session recital. Students must provide their own instruments. (Please indicate instrument on enrollment form violin, viola, cello, or string bass.)
Want to learn how to play the guitar “by ear?” Want to learn the parts of a guitar and how to tune it? This course will explore different guitar styles: Spanish finger-style and Western pick-style. Learning is based on playing duets, with the instructor playing the harmony and cords. BRING YOUR OWN GUITAR, NYLON OR STEEL STRINGS OK, NO ELECTRIC GUITARS. Sheet music will be provided. Bring lots of enthusiasm.
This class is for students who have one year of experience with music and guitar or completed Guitar I. Learn how to play various types of music “by ear including pieces like Desmond's “Take Five.” Learn how “to read’ your favorite sheet music with the instructor playing duet parts and cords. Course includes an introduction to simple cords, review of guitar tuning and anatomy, and a short history of the guitar. BRING YOUR OWN GUITAR, NYLON OR STEEL STRINGS OK, NO ELECTRIC GUITARS. Sheet music will be provided. Bring lots of enthusiasm, and sheet music of your favorite song and maracas, if you’d like.
