The last weekend in September the DVC Women’s basketball team and the DVC Men’s Lacrosse team and their respective coaches participated in the 10th annual Pleasant Hill Community Service Day.  After lining up to get their free-t-shirts and pancake breakfasts the two teams gathered together for a group photo before heading to their respective sites for a day of hard work.

The basketball team headed to the YMCA to undertake brush clearing, landscaping and mulching, contributing to the betterment of the YMCA and the Pleasant Hill community.

The men’s lacrosse team tended to their adopted Gregory Gardens Elementary school, where they assaulted weeds and overgrown bushes and brush, removed a tree, repainted the United States map on the playground asphalt (with several students and community members), quarried sand, rebuilt garden boxes and painted security lines. Put another “tick” in the win columns for the classy young men and women of women’s basketball and men’s lacrosse and their coaches who represent DVC and the community in such a positive manner.
