DVC Men's Water Polo CCCAA Scholar Team of the Year
The Diablo Valley College men’s water polo team was recognized as the top academic performing water polo team in the state and awarded the Scholar Team Award by the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA).
According to the CCCAA, “The Scholar Team Award is the highest academic team achievement given annually by the CCCAA. All team members must excel academically with a total GPA of 3.0 or higher, and the team should demonstrate better than average accomplishments in intercollegiate athletic competition.”
The DVC men’s water polo team had a cumulative GPA of 3.5 in fall 2013 and was recognized for this achievement at the CCCAA Convention on April 1, 2015, in Ontario, CA.
“This is an honor that should be the objective of all of our sports teams and one for which you [DVC] should be extremely proud,” CCCAA president Carlyle Carter wrote in a letter to DVC.
Both the 2015 DVC men’s and women’s water polo teams have been forwarded by the Big 8 Conference for consideration for next year’s honors.
