What can I do with a computer and information science certificate?

After a student has earned a certificate of achievement in computer and information science, he or she is well prepared to go directly into entry-level employment in the computer programming field.

For those students interested in graduating from a four-year college or university, many of the courses are transferable. Please see a counselor for specific details.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, salaries range from $30,000 to $40,000 for entry-level programmers and up to $85,000 or more for a more experienced programmer.

How long will it take to earn a certificate?

Generally, students take 18 to 24 months to complete the courses required for the certificate.
