This workshop will cover the basic concepts of GIS and fundamentals of ArcGIS software. The course follows ESRI module of Introduction to ArcGIS 1.
After successful completion of this 2-day workshop students will become familiar with various functionalities of ArcGIS 9.2 software such as –the structure of software, data-display, data query, data-formats and data editing, associating and linking tables, geographic coordinates and map projection, creating maps, reports and graphs etc. Through hands-on exercise students will be able to apply the basic concepts for GIS solution.
Who should take this class: Anyone who is interested in learning the fundamentals of GIS or ArcGIS software and its GIS capabilities.
Prerequisites: None.
Credit: This workshop does not give DVC academic credit. Successful candidates will receive an ESRI certificate of 16-hour coursework in introduction to ArcGIS 1 and may qualify for work-related credits where applicable.
Fee: $800 (Includes textbook)
How to register: Complete the ArcGIS 1 (9.2) registration form and return, with payment, to the Institutional Advancement Office, AB 200.
