Discover the possibilities

Business Administration

Ever thought about starting your own business? Toyed with the idea of learning about marketing, real estate or accounting?

Do you enjoy exploring the ocean, marine life, nature or how the human body works?

Does your imagination lead you to write creative stories, get lost in literature, or help others learn the English language?

Special Education

Do you enjoy working with children, adolescents, or adults with disabilities? Do you gain a sense of satisfaction when teaching others?

Are you curious about why you and others behave the way they do? Do you wonder what the underlying reasons for human behavior are?

Are interested in the study of social life, social causes, and the consequences of human behavior? How groups of people and societies interact with one another?

Does the idea of gathering, assessing, creating, and presenting news and information appeal to you? Do you see yourself interviewing others to get the story?

From the beginning of ancient times, humans have used philosophy, literature, religion, art, music, history, and language to understand and record our world.

Interested in learning about multiple points of view and changing global context? History is both a science and an art, combining the careful analysis of evidence with compelling storytelling.

What is a Majors Expo?

It is a one day event that highlights some of the majors, major-related student clubs and services offered at DVC.

Why should I go to a Majors Expo?

If you are unsure or undecided about your major, this event is a great way to learn more about your options.
If you are clear about your declared major, the expo is an opportunity to learn about specializations within the major, career options related to the major, and transfer pathways.

What type of information will be available at the Majors Expo?

DVC professors will be available to talk to you about the major, recommended introductory classes to test out the major and some professors will share their own personal story about how they chose their college majors. Student clubs will share information about their major-related organizations. Student Services will offer internship and scholarship information, resources and services to help you discover, explore, and decide on your program of study.
