Registration is closed for this summer.
The Engineering, Construction, and Manufacturing camp has reached its capacity for the summer enrollment.
The camp offers summer enrichment opportunities for high school students and teachers to explore theory and practice in a week-long activity that blends hands-on exploration, problem-solving, industry field visits, and expert industry viewpoints. High school students will earn 1 unit of college credit for five days of participation. The camp is designed for high school students who will be entering their junior or senior year for the fall term, but anyone may participate.
This is a collaborative effort of Diablo Valley College, the Contra Costa County Office of Education and the Contra Costa Economic Partnership Workforce Initiative that has served 554 students over the past eleven years from twenty-five high schools in Contra Costa County. A culminating student showcase event takes place on the last day of camp and consistently draws attendance from approximately 120 audience members that include: students, parents, teachers, industry participants, college faculty and administrators.
Diablo Valley College works with secondary schools, Regional Occupational Programs, community college and industry partners to maximize resources and link secondary and post-secondary programs in order to encourage high school students to consider post-secondary education and careers in the targeted industry sectors. Enrollment is limited to sixty students on a first-come, first-served basis.
