What is a domain password? A domain password
allows a user access to different domains (i.e. a server that handles email for
the school). To learn more about user passwords, you can click on: the Start
menu of your PC, the Help menu, and finally on Passwords and User Accounts.
My Domain Password Does Not Work
A domain user is given access to different servers and his/her email
account while on and off campus. If one were to forget the
domain password/logon, then he or she should contact the
Help Desk to have a password created.
Why recreate it? As part of our security
measures, the end user is the only one to know his/her password. So if
he or she forgets it, the only remedy is to create a new one.
I Would Like to Change My Domain Password
Method 1 for Windows 2000 and XP
To change your domain password, the easiest way to do so is to
start the computer, log on, and when you see the desktop hit the following key
strokes: ctrl-alt-delete.
A box will appear, giving you six choices and
one of these is to change your password. Seems easy, but you need your old
password in order to create a new one; hence the reason for contacting the
people above.
Method 2 for Windows 98
Once logged on, go to the Star menu,
click on the control panel, and then click on user accounts. Look
for your user logon and click on it; and then hit the following key
strokes: ctrl-alt-delete.
