This course is an introduction to special legal, business, and medical resources in print, Web, and non-print formats. Students will be introduced to and practice using current resources in each area. Students will also learn about libraries and information centers specializing in these areas. Tools emphasized will be those readily available.
Note: Class meets on 11/03, 11/10, and 11/17 only.

LS121  Information Competency and Research Skills

This course teaches the research strategies and skills for successfully finding, retrieving, evaluating, and using information in all formats. It combines library skills, research methods, and information technology literacy. Coursework includes the ethical and legal aspects of information use and the critical thinking skills necessary for successful college research.
