The Music Department at DVC meets the needs of the entire spectrum of students wishing to pursue their interests in music.

        The Music Major Transfer Program is a comprehensive program of theory, literature and performance in which musicians complete lower-division requirements in preparation for transfer to four-year institutions. To ensure transferability to the program of their choice, students should discuss specific requirements with DVC Counselors. All music majors are required to attend a department-wide department meeting on the first Friday of each semester.

        The Music Industry Studies Certificate Program is a course of study for students interested in commercial music and the recording arts. The program provides the basic skills and training opportunities needed for employment in the industry or transfer to university-level commercial music programs.
