Catalog 2009-2010

Students are prepared for positions in the landscape maintenance field and for the California Landscape Contractors Association's CLTM examination. Elements of the program will also assist students preparing for the California Association of Nurseryperson's certification examination.

To earn a certificate of achievement, students must complete each course used to meet a certificate requirement with a "C" grade or better. Required courses are available in the evening and on weekends.

SLO#1. Students completing the program will be able to know how to control weed.

SLO#2. Students completing the program will be able to maintain and use a lawnmower and demonstrate safe working practices.

SLO#3. Students completing the program will be able to demonstrate the following skills: pruning, training, trimming.

SLO#4. Students completing the program will be able to recognize and control common pests and diseases.

SLO#5. Students completing the program will be able to identify areas requiring maintenance.

SLO#6. Students completing the program will be able to understand the use of different types of herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers.
