Services
  • Assistance in meeting county requirements
    We help to facilitate the process and paperwork to successfully fulfill CalWORKs county time and work participation requirements.

  • Academic Assessment
    We connect you with testing to determine your entry level for required courses to fulfill certificate and degree programs.

  • Career Assessment
    We offer career planning to help you chose an appropriate vocation. Several short-term courses are offered to help in this decision-making.

  • Child Care
    We pay for the cost of on-campus child-care during the hours that you are attending school.

  • Books, supplies and transportation
    We help to facilitate accessing resources from the county to help assure that you get each semester off to a good start.

  • Peer Mentoring
    We provide peer mentoring to help promote a smooth transition into the college community and help maximize your benefits to pay for school.

  • Job Search Assistance
    We will connect you with on- and off-campus job opportunities that help maximize your benefits to pay for school and provide valuable work experience.  We can connect you with the Career and Employment Center in preparing resumes and practicing for interviews.

  • Work Study - Eligible students will receive assistance in obtaining work study jobs which will help meet work participation requirements and do not affect your cash aid.

  • Workshops
    The key to college success is being equipped with the appropriate skills. We provide Brown Bag (Lunchtime) Workshops and College Success Workshops that help facilitate the student's academic and personal growth.  Check the website for workshops and events geared for CalWORKs students.

  • Support group meets weekly for students to discuss issues relating to school, parenting and other topics that may affect academic and career success.  Check with the CalWORKs or CARE office for meeting time and place.

  • Benefits after Cash Aid
    Our program provides assistance through post employment services. Students are eligible to receive benefits up to 2 years after cash aid has stopped.  We will work with you you access the maximum your ability to continue you education through financial aid and other resources.
