What can I do with a dental laboratory technology certificate/degree?
Most graduates of the dental laboratory technology program find job placements before they even complete the program. The demand for well-trained technicians is high and the dental community recognizes that a certificate/degree from DVC ensures that the student has gained the necessary skills to excel in this industry.
Upon completion of the dental technology program, students are eligible for the National Comprehensive Examination, which leads to certification sponsored by the National Board of Certified Dental Laboratories.
When are classes offered?
The required dental technology program courses are taught in sequence with all students progressing through the program together. The coursework and laboratory assignments are taught in the morning making it convenient for working students to hold an afternoon job.
How long will it take to earn a certificate/degree?
The one-year certificate program is scheduled to begin each fall semester (August) and is completed in two semesters. Associate degree requirements can generally be completed in two years of full-time study.

In addition to textbooks, dental technology students are required to purchase lab coats and some materials and supplies for the laboratory.
