Certificate of Accomplishment -Early Childhood Education - Resource (Foster) Family Specialist
Catalog 2009-2010

This certificate meets the educational requirements for caregivers of children in out-of-home placement in Contra Costa County, including all resource families who were previously categorized as foster care providers, foster-adopt families, relative care givers, non-relative extended family members and group home staff.

To earn a certificate of accomplishment, students must complete each course with a grade of "C" or better. Certificate requirements can be completed by attending classes in the day, evening or weekends.

SLO#1. Students completing the program will be able to identify the role that Children and Family Services plays in the life of resource family.

SLO#2. Students completing the program will be able to identify the role that Children and Family Services plays in the life of a child in out-of-home placement.

SLO#3. Students completing the program will be able to apply appropriate behavior management techniques for children in their care.
