
Certificate of Achievement - Electrical/Electronics Technology
Catalog 2009-2010
This program prepares students for jobs installing, repairing, maintaining and servicing electrical and electronic equipment. Electrical/electronics jobs are found in the fields of electrical, medical, industrial, commercial systems, programmable logic control systems, automotive, communications, and others. The following courses are part of the Electricians Trainee Program and approved by the Division of Apprenticeship Standards: Electricity 120, 121, 271, 266, 267, Electronics 102B and CNT 103.
To earn a certificate of achievement, students must complete each course used to meet a certificate requirement with a "C" grade or better and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or better in the coursework required for the certificate.

Certificate of achievement in Electrical/Electronics Technology (DataTel code CA.ELT.D)
The purpose of this program is to prepare students for work as electricians or electronics technicians.
SLO#1. Students completing the program will be able to solve electrical circuit problems using Ohm's Law.
SLO#2. Students completing the program will be able to build and troubleshoot electrical/electronics circuits at an apprenticeship level.
SLO#3. Students completing the program will be able to program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
