
Certificate of Achievement - Civil Drafting, CAD
Catalog and Addendum 2009-2010
This certificate program prepares students for further study or an entry-level training position in jobs requiring them to prepare and revise technical drawings used in civil engineering and surveying.
To earn a certificate of achievement, students must complete each of the required courses with a "C" grade or better. Some courses are not offered every semester so please consult with the program director for assistance in scheduling classes.

Certificate of achievement in Civil Drafting, CAD (DataTel code CA.CDCAD.D)
SLO#1. Students completing the program will be able to apply civil drafting principles to interpret and develop civil engineering maps.
SLO#2. Students completing the program will be able to interpret construction blueprints.
SLO#3. Students completing the program will be able to create 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional Computer Aided Drawings (CAD).
SLO#4. Students completing the program will be able to interpret Global Positioning data.
SLO#5. Students completing the program will be able to measure land forms using ground surveying equipment.
SLO#6. Students completing the program will be able to use general computer software such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
SLO#7. Students completing the program will be able to apply trigonometry to math problems.
