Certificate of Achievement - Mechanical Drafting CAD
Catalog 2009-2010
This certificate program prepares students for further study or an entry-level training position in jobs requiring them to prepare and revise technical drawings used in mechanical engineering, machining and/or manufacturing.
To earn a certificate of achievement, students must complete each of the required courses with a "C" grade or better. Some courses are not offered every semester so please consult with the program director for assistance in scheduling classes.

Certificate of achievement in Mechanical Drafting, CAD (DataTel code CA.MDCAD.D)
SLO#1. Students completing the program will be able to prepare, interpret and revise technical drawings using computer aided drafting (CAD) and design software
SLO#2. Students completing the program will be able to use geometric dimensioning and tolerancing according to ANSI standards.
SLO#3. Students completing the program will be able to develop CAD drawings using geometric construction and descriptive geometry.
SLO#4. Students completing the program will be able to perform basic machine processes.
SLO#5. Students completing the program will be able to identify the role of computers and CAD in mechanical drafting.
