Possible career opportunities in mechanical technology

Maintenance technicians work in industries such as refineries, chemical plants, water utilities, steel manufacturing, and other large manufacturing operations. They machine metal parts, repair pumps and other rotating equipment, align shafts, repair valves, and complete other troubleshooting tasks and make repairs as assigned.
