TIME MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP
Thursday, October 8th, 1-2pm, Counseling Center, Room 103
EOPS Counselor, Raine Dougan, shares her tips for effective time management. Get great strategies for using your time wisely while juggling all of your many commitments. Topics will include creating a schedule, prioritizing tasks, watching out for “time bandits”, and combating procrastination.
DVC SCHOLARSHIP WORKSHOP (2 sessions)
Session I: Tuesday, November 3rd, 11am-12pm, Student Services Center, Room 208
Session II: Thursday, November 12th, 3-4pm, Student Services Center, Room 216
Leslie Mills, DVC Scholarship Coordinator, will be on hand to answer your questions and tell you all about how to take advantage of DVC's Scholarship Program. Come learn about multiple scholarship opportunities and what it takes to earn some extra cash to help pay for college.
KENNEDY KING SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION SESSION (3 sessions)
Session I: Monday, November 16th, 3:30-4:30pm
Session II: Wednesday, November 18th, 4-5pm
Session III: Tuesday, December 1st, 2-3pm
All Kennedy-King information sessions will be held in Student Services Center, Room 216.
Founded in memory of Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr. and Senator Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, the Kennedy King Memorial College Scholarship Fund provides multiple $8000 college scholarships each year to students from minority groups under-represented at California's four-year colleges and universities with financial need and who have demonstrated academic success at one of the three community colleges in Contra Costa County. Come learn about this amazing scholarship opportunity.
CARE/CalWORKs Workshop: "SING, MOVE, FUN!"
Friday, November 13th, 10-11:30am (BFL Community Conference Room)
Sing, dance, play, and laugh with your child while he/she learns important skills. Through songs and games your child will develop language skills, social skills, gross motor skills, and so much more. This workshop is geared toward 1-3 year olds, but all ages are welcome. Parent participation is required.
CARE/CalWORKs Workshop: QUICK & EASY MEALS
Friday, December 4th, 12-1:30pm (HRM Demo Room)
Run out of ideas for what to make for dinner? Are you and your family ready for some new, delicious, and nutritious meals? If you're looking for inspiration, this workshop's for you! Join other CARE/CalWORKs students as we learn about what's healthy and what's not. Then we'll use what we learn to prepare a healthy balanced meal using one of the prep kitchens here at DVC.
CARE/CalWORKs Winter Celebration
Wednesday, December 16th, 4-6pm (Trophy Room)
CARE/CalWORKs students and their family are invited to our annual end-of-year winter holiday celebration. Light food and refreshments will be provided as well as storytelling, music, and toys for the kids. Fun for the entire family!
