The Broadcast Communication arts program prepares students for entry level in one of four specialty areas of broadcasting industry; studio production, field production, post production and writing.
To earn a certificate of accomplishment, students must complete each of the required courses with a "C" grade or better. Required courses can only be completed by attending a combination of day and evening classes.

SLO#1. Students completing the program will be able to produce for broadcast and digital distribution utilizing three-camera studio format principles (except Basic Digital Field Production and Basic Writing for Digital Medium).
SLO#2. Students completing the program will be able to operate cameras and professional sound equipment (except Basic Writing for Digital Medium).
SLO#3. Students completing the program will be able to perform digital nonlinear editing (except Basic Writing for Digital Medium).
SLO#4. Students completing the program will be able to produce still and motion graphics (except Basic Writing for Digital Medium).
SLO#5. Students completing the program will be able to produce for broadcast and digital distribution utilizing field production principles (except Basic Studio Production and
Basic Writing for Digital Medium).
SLO#6. Students completing the program will be able to write scripts for various production formats.
SLO#7. Students completing the program will be able to direct projects for various production formats.
SLO#8. Students completing the program will be able to transfer to four-year institutions majoring in broadcast communication arts.
SLO#9. Students completing the program will be able to qualify for entry-level employment in broadcasting.
SLO#10. Students completing the program will be able to apply their planning skills for project management.
SLO#11. Students completing the program will be able to identify major trends in the history of broadcasting.
