Current Student Ambassadors
The DVC Student Ambassador program was created to help connect potential and current students to DVC campus resources. The Student Ambassador team works together under the direction of the Outreach/Relations with Schools Office to represent Diablo Valley College to prospective, new and returning students and their parents at events on campus and in the community. These student leaders help promote the many opportunities available at DVC by attending college nights at local high schools, leading campus tours, assisting with events, and making valuable connections with future and current students at the Welcome Services front desk. Maybe you have already seen Student Ambassadors on campus wearing their dark green polo shirts and friendly smiles!

For more information about the Student Ambassador program, contact Mercy Pono, at mpono@dvc.edu or 925-969-2115.

Meet the current DVC Student Ambassadors

Alejandra Vaca graduated from Pinole Valley High School in 2010 unsure of the next step to take in her academic journey. A friend suggested that she take classes at DVC, and she feels that advice was the best she could have taken. Alejandra became a Student Ambassador because it is an opportunity to give back to the college that has helped her so much.   She hopes to transfer into Kaiser Permanente’s Radiography program after obtaining her associate’s degree in Allied Health in spring 2013. In her spare time, she enjoys going to concerts, playing guitar, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering at a local hospital.
