Believe it or not, the last two weeks of February and the entire month of March is a great time to start planning your summer and fall semesters. Make your counseling appointments now to ensure that you are on track to complete your educational goal at DVC! Students who wait until May to meet with their counselor, during the enrollment "rush," often find all counseling appointments filled.

| Deadline for completion of Liberal Arts A.A. degree |
| Students completing A.A. degree requirements with the major of Liberal Arts, a program which was deleted from the DVC catalog in 2004, are advised that they must satisfy all requirements by the close of summer 2009, due to State regulations. Students unable to do so will have to select another major to complete their degree, and may see a counselor for assistance. |

Student Government... ...aka Associated Students of Diablo Valley College aka ASDVC meetings are held every Tuesday 2:00 - 4:00 at the Student Union Conference Room 204. You don't have to be on the board to attend the meetings and find out what the student government does for you the student.

Upcoming transfer deadlines · The CSU application filing period for Summer semester or quarter is February 1 - 28. Come to the Transfer Center to submit your application or go to www.csumentor.edu/. To check which campuses are still accepting Fall 2009 applications, go to https://secure.csumentor.edu/Filing_Status/Default.asp.
· Applications for Fall 2009 are still being accepted by UC Riverside. Go to UC Riverside to determine which majors may apply. Stop by the Transfer Center for application instructions.
· UC will begin notifying transfer applicants of Fall 2009 admission decisions mid-March through May 1.
Scholarships available! Sacramento State Alumni Association is now accepting applications for 2009-2010 undergraduate transfer and graduate students. The deadline for submitting applications is March 2, 2009. Go to www.sacstatealumni.com/ for complete instructions and application materials.

Volunteer tutors needed for spring 2009 The Educational Talent Search Program at DVC seeks tutoring volunteers for low income local middle and high school students. Tutors are needed in a variety of subjects.
All tutoring is held on the DVC campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m., and Wednesdays, 3:30-5 p.m. Interested students should contact Jackie Castellano at jjonesca@dvc.edu.

DVC's Business Division is offering once-per-month workshops for people in business. The workshops, called Business Boosters, are held on Thursday mornings, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. (registration opens 7:10 a.m.). The workshops offer advice from the experts that is immediately useful.
