| This course provides a unique perspective for students and a focus on historical connections and correlations. Students will receive more directed support in producing and editing artist statements, an important part of studio practice. Practical experience in preparation for exhibitions will also be a focus. Historical and established artists and movements will be discussed alongside contemporary visual culture for a diverse and global set of influences. Students will create a series of paintings and develop and refine artist statements. In addition to class projects and take-home assignments, there will also be critiques, technical demonstrations, field trips, and films that supplement the course studio work. CSU | ||
