| This course is a survey of United States history (1877-present) emphasizing women's life experiences within the context of larger historical changes. The course will also examine the commonalities of women's experience based on their gender and the differences among women based on their race, ethnicity, class, and region. The course will explore how women fostered and were affected by the industrialization, secularization and urbanization of the United States, and the development of the United States as a world power.
