| This course includes a study of various aspects of genetics and evolution. Topics may include cellular reproduction, Mendelian Genetics, DNA structure and function, protein synthesis, gene regulation, biotechnology, genetically modified organisms and gene therapy as well as an introduction to the process of evolution by means of natural selection and the social implications of these topics. A laboratory component includes an introduction to the scientific method and experimentation including data gathering and analysis with a variety of scientific equipment.
