| This course focuses on the appropriate use of assessment and observation strategies to document development, growth, play and learning in early childhood education settings. Students will utilize practical classroom experiences to apply a variety of observation methodologies including, child portfolios, recording strategies, rating systems, and multiple assessment tools. Within the context of the DVC Childrens Center or an approved mentor site, students will explore the connections between developmental theory and practical usage of reflective observation.
