Summer Aid

Financial aid is available to students that qualify and enroll during the summer. You may be eligible to receive a grant, work-study, or loan.

California College Promise Grant (CCPG)

To see if you qualify to have your enrollment fees waived for the summer you can submit the 2020-2021 FAFSA or 2020-2021 California Dream Act Application. If you are qualified, a CA College Promise Grant award will appear on your award letter in InSite after your application is processed.

Summer Pell

Financial aid, specifically the Pell Grant, is available for the summer.  In late May and June, summer Pell Grant will be calculated and your financial aid award offer letter will be revised on InSite to show your summer aid eligibility. Please note that only students enrolled for summer will have the Pell Grant recalculated.

To qualify for summer Pell Grant you must:

  • submitted a valid 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 FAFSA with DVC's school code (001191),
  • completed all items listed on the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 Financial Aid Checklist
  • enrolled for summer session classes,
  • be enrolled in the minimum number of units required to receive your Pell Grant award, and
  • meet satisfactory academic progress (SAP) requirements.

If you received financial aid at another institution for the fall and/or spring term, be sure that DVC is listed on your FAFSA. Once DVC receives your FAFSA and you have completed all the items required to determine your eligibility for aid, your summer aid eligibility will be determined. Any aid received at another institution must be taken into account when determining your eligibility for summer aid.  Also, your summer Pell Grant will only be released once your classes officially start.
