FACULTY Recommending Tutors: DVC Tutoring Services is responsible for the recruitment and training of new tutors every semester. We ask faculty to assist in recruiting students from their classes and department. The first step in this process is to provide the potential tutor with a recommendation which attests to the student's ability to serve as a tutor, and to the student’s successful completion of required course work. Please consider whether you have any students in your current classes who combine the following qualities.
When you identify such students, please fill out the Faculty Recommendation form and mail to the Coordinator of Tutoring Services office located at Library L105. Referring Students for Tutoring: If you have students who need extra attention outside of class, please refer these students to one of DVC Tutoring Labs/Center. In order to provide the best services to you and to your students, please print the Tutoring Faculty Course Referral Form or the Tutoring Faculty Individual Referral Form. Please note: these are half-sheet forms. You can use one form for two students. Please send to the appropriate lab or tutoring center. The form is necessary only once a semester for each course for which the student is to be tutored. You can also encourage students in your class to study in groups. The Tutoring Center organizes Study Groups as part of its program of providing a nurturing environment where students benefit from guidance given by a well-qualified tutor and are able to share ideas, study skills, and camaraderie with their fellow DVC students For questions, contact:
