Working in close collaboration with faculty and other student services, Diablo Valley College Tutoring Services assists students to identify strategies for improving learning and increasing academic performance. This is conducted in a relaxed, constructive atmosphere of learning using a variety of tutoring techniques tailored to each student's individual learning style. The ultimate goal is to inspire students to become confident, independent learners prepared to face the challenges of the modern world. |
About Us
Tutoring Services at Diablo Valley College are available free of charge to all DVC students who seek help or are referred by an instructor. Tutoring instructional assistance in various academic subjects is provided by trained peer tutors and instructional assistants. Our goal is to ensure that students enrolled at Diablo Valley College receive the needed academic support to succeed in their classes.
DVC Tutoring Services offers tutoring assistance on an appointment basis and/or on a drop-in basis at the tutoring centers listed below. Both one-on-one and group tutoring are available. All students receiving tutoring are enrolled in the non-credit Supervised Tutoring-20 course which involves no fees or grades. Students are asked to bring an instructor referral form to their first tutoring session.
