All students are required to wear a mask that covers both the nose and mouth while in class. If a student forgets to bring or wear a mask, they can get a paper mask in labs, classrooms, division deans’ offices and the Student Services Center. If a student does not comply with mask requirements, they may be subject to the college’s code of conduct.
Students are required to complete a self-assessment prior to coming to campus each
day. Please review the checklist.
Students and employees are not permitted to enter the campus and must notify their
instructor or supervisor if:
To register for spring 2022 in-person classes or to utilize in-person services (beginning January 3, 2022), students must provide proof of vaccination or receive an approved exception by November 1, 2021. Students meeting this deadline will receive a $150 incentive for helping to keep our communities safe.
Students who do not provide proof of vaccination or receive an approved exception by November 1, 2021, will have a hold placed on their record that will restrict them from registering for in-person classes. Students will not be able to register for in-person classes until they become fully vaccinated or receive an approved exception.
Students who are attending only online classes for the 2021-2022 school year, and who will not be visiting campus at all, may choose not to upload their vaccine information.
All students, regardless of vaccination status, may continue taking in-person classes and utilizing in-person services during the fall semester. No student will be removed or dropped from a class in fall 2021 for not being vaccinated.
All employees, regardless of primary work location, are subject to the vaccine requirement.

Per a September 14, 2021 health order:
Vaccination rates in our county are quite high. More information is available on the county’s data dashboard.
In order to support contact tracing and in accordance with state law (SB 1159), employees are required to submit record of all on-campus attendance, via the yellow InSite tile titled ‘COVID-19’.
Masks are required indoors regardless of a person’s vaccination status. This does not apply to people in the following circumstances:
If a student is requesting a medical exemption from wearing a face covering, students should contact Disabled Student Services/Disabled Students Programs & Services (DSS/DSPS) prior to coming on campus to request an accommodation.
If an employee is requesting a medical exemption from wearing a face covering, they should contact their supervisor prior to coming on campus to request an accommodation.
If a student forgets to bring or wear a mask, they will be able to get a temporary mask in classrooms, division deans’ offices and the Student Services Center. If a student repeatedly fails to comply or refuses to comply with mask requirements, they will be subject to the college’s code of conduct.
Review employee guidance for managing student mask compliance.
If an employee forgets to bring or wear a mask, they will be able to get an N-95 mask in the dean’s office. If an employee repeatedly fails to comply or refuses to comply with mask requirements, they will be directed to leave the work site and their supervisor will notify human resources immediately.
Yes, students can find paper masks in classrooms, division deans’ offices and the Student Services Center.
Per CalOSHA requirements, N-95 masks will be available for employees in the deans’ offices.
Per the current county’s guidance, social distancing and reduced capacity is no longer required in public settings and cannot be insisted upon.
You can request it, but not require it. Per district guidelines, as of August 2, all college offices will be open for in-person services.
Yes, there are enhanced cleaning protocols in place. We will continue to follow those established protocols (electrostatic spraying, disinfecting high touch areas and quick response to any/all reported infected areas). There will not be any cleaning between classes throughout the day. All cleaning will be done once per evening, after classes and campuses have closed.
Hand sanitizer will continue to be available in all rooms. Wipes are available as supplies allow in division offices. Disposable masks will continue to be available in all areas as well – classrooms and division offices.
There is a current district-wide project to assess and repair ventilation and filtration systems to meet the CDC/OSHA HVAC recommendations. This work is active and on-going. Our expectation is that the areas initially identified as priority – those that will be occupied during fall semester – will be mostly completed prior to the start of the semester.
All employees and students are encouraged to use 4CD Safe to complete a daily self-assessment for COVID-19 symptoms prior to coming to campus.
Beginning January 3, 2022, the daily health assessments and the green ‘symptom-free’ passes provided by 4CD Safe will be required for all employees and students to be on campus. To log in, students should use their InSite email address and employees should use their full @email.4cd.edu email address.
