Public Health Degree Pathways

Diablo Valley College’s Public Health Science associate degree will provide you with a foundation for a future career in health promotion, health education and disease prevention. This is a great path for anyone interested in a career that helps others and gives back to the community.

Students completing the associate degree in public health science for transfer are guaranteed admission to the CSU system, but not necessarily to a particular major or campus.

We know that navigating degree requirements can be tricky. Once you have enrolled at DVC, you can schedule an appointment with a counselor to discuss which option is best for you.

Those interested in a career in public health often work in roles to promote healthy lifestyles. Whether conducting research in a lab for disease prevention, or educating the public about health issues, you can pursue a variety of interests that can benefit communities, large and small. These careers often require more than an associate degree.
