Studying humanities will provide you with a well-rounded understanding of the creative and intellectual expression in music, dance, visual arts, architecture, literature, drama, philosophy and history. You will learn how to analyze, interpret and compare art forms and cultures while studying the arts as human expression and developing your critical thinking and writing skills.
You can learn more about the requirements in our catalog.
We know that navigating degrees and certificate requirements can be tricky. Once you have enrolled at DVC, you can schedule an appointment with a counselor to discuss which option is best for you.
Although some students are able to get an entry-level position after completing the
program, most students transfer to a four-year university to gain a bachelor's degree
in a similar program.
For more information on possible career options, please visit the Career Center, schedule an appointment with a counselor, or contact one of our faculty and staff members. Please note that you cannot meet with a counselor or staff member until you are enrolled at DVC.
Diablo Valley College offers degree and certificate programs in a variety of subjects. For a complete listing, see certificates and degrees.
