Kinesiology Activity 

DVC Kinesiology gymThe Kinesiology division offers a wide variety of activity classes that fulfill associate degree requirements, general education requirements, and most importantly, personal health and wellness needs. 

Students completing KNACT 100 (1-unit) AND two 1-unit activity courses (KNACT and KNDAN) satisfy the CSU Lifelong Learning and Self Development-Area E requirement. 

The following DVC degrees/certificates require KNACT courses:

  • A.A. Kinesiology for Transfer
  • A.S. Fitness Instruction
  • A.S. Kinesiology – Coaching
  • A.S. Kinesiology – Sport and Recreation Management
  • Certificate of Achievement – Coaching
  • Certificate of Achievement – Personal Training


Students can participate in activity courses within the following categories:

  • Aquatics
  • Fitness
  • Individual Sports
  • Team Sports
  • Combatives
  • Dance
  • Yoga
