College Connect

A DVC San Ramon Campus & San Ramon Valley USD Partnership

The San Ramon campus of Diablo Valley College (DVC), has partnered with the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD) to create the College Connect Program for qualified rising 11th and 12th graders. This exceptional educational opportunity provides SRVUSD students with accelerated learning in the company of other college bound students, while preserving their high school experience.  If you are looking for the College Connect application materials and contact, visit the SRVUSD program page.

Program Structure

Participating College Connect students enroll in a shortened high school schedule so that they may attend college courses. During their 11th and 12th grade years, College Connect students can complete up to 30 units of transferable credit aligned with the University of California’s (UC) and California State University (CSU) Inter-segmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) requirements.  Essentially, successful students may complete their first year of college by the time that they graduate from high school.  Students may choose to continue at DVC and transfer to a UC or CSU as a junior, complete a career certificate in a qualifying field, or earn an associate degree.

College Connect (CC) students benefit from having a support teacher at their high school, as well as a high school and DVC counselor to ensure students are meeting high school graduation requirements and A-G requirements, while at the same time taking courses aligned with their educational goals.

Eligibility

Prospective students for College Connect (CC) must be students of San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD).

We encourage a wide variety of students to apply to the College Connect program including those who may not
necessarily consider themselves “college ready” at this point in their educational career. Students who are hard-working,
able to persevere through challenging situations, and bring a diverse set of experiences and perspectives to the program
would be an especially good fit.

There is a capacity of 60 high school juniors to join the program each year. Equal representation from each comprehensive high school and alternative programs will be a consideration for qualified applicants.
