How to add classes after instruction begins (late add codes)

Late add codes are needed when you want to register for a class after the first session has taken place. First check with the instructor, and if space is available, the instructor will give you a unique four-digit late add code that will permit you to register online.

Add codes are non-transferable

Add codes for both full and short term classes are unique codes that may only be used once and only by the student who was issued the code. Students may not share add codes or transfer an add code to another student. Students also may not use an add code that was not issued directly to them.

Giving, selling, trading or transferring your late add code to another student, or registering with an add code that was not issued to you by the instructor is a violation of the Student-Code-of-Conduct.

How to apply your add code:

  • Log in to InSite to register for a class using an add code,
  • Select "Late Registration Using Add Code" under the InSite Registration menu,
  • Enter the add code along with the section number of the class and select "Register" from the drop down menu on the next screen,
  • Students registering in person on or after the first class meeting must have a completed Schedule Request form with an add code or instructor signature.

Add codes are valid until the last day to add, as listed in the calendar of important dates in the schedule of classes, for full term classes. Short term classes have different deadlines and students must check with their instructor for details. Add codes for both full term and short term classes will expire by midnight on the last day to add.
