Course Sequence

Understanding DVC's course sequence is important to meeting your goals. Whether you are looking to gain an associate degree, certificate, or transfer to a four-year college, you will need to know which classes are required for your program.

After taking the online placement tool (formerly Multiple Measures) or the traditional assessments and receiving your results, you can use the course sequence to understand what your placement means and which courses may be required for your goal.

  • Review our English Course Sequence Guide to understand what your placement means and which courses may be required for your goal.
  • Review our ESL Course Sequence Guide to understand what your placement means and which courses may be required for your goal. You will need to complete the ESL assessment/placement to be placed in the correct ESL course for your skill level. For more information, please visit ESL assessment.
