Welcome to DVC! The New Student Orientation (NSO) is completely online and designed to give you information to help you be a successful student. The orientation takes about 45 minutes to complete.
After you receive your student ID number, you should complete the New Student Orientation (también está disponible en español.) The orientation will provide you with important information about student services, the online student portal, programs, procedures, and policies.
You can start it and pick it up where you left off, as it doesn’t have to be completed all at once. At the end of the orientation, you will be presented with ten quiz questions. You need to answer at least eight correct in order to mark the orientation as complete.
Completing the NSO, getting your English or English as a Second Language (ESL) and math placements, and creating an education plan are the steps that can result in an earlier registration date.
Please note: Access to the online orientation is provided to students that did not complete the online orientation previously and are not currently enrolled in high school.
If you encounter accessibility issues please contact the Assessment Center via e-mail at assessmentcenter@dvc.edu or chat from www.dvc.edu/assessment. Please include your name, student ID, and a description of the problem or error message.
