October 25, 2021:  Fix one external file for accessibility

Accessibility Goal of the Week

Last week we explored support links from Where Do I Begin with Accessibility to teach us how to fix accessibility errors that Ally detected in one external file.

This week, our goal is to do three things:

  1. Implement what we learned and fix the errors in the file. If you find that making your fixes is exceeding our usual 20-minute time frame, take a break and come back to the task when you can. Don’t let yourself get overwhelmed with the process!
  2. Re-upload the fixed file using Ally and see if the Ally gauge improved (i.e. moved from red to green).
  3. Check the "Fixed" or "Need help!" boxes on the Ally Gauge Inventory.  Add details about what you're struggling with in the "Notes" column.

Did you check "Need help!"?  Contact an Accessibility Ambassador in the Digital Learning Lab on Tuesdays from 9:00-11:00 am and Fridays from 3:00-4:00 pm, or reach out to an Ambassador via the directory. Show them your Ally Gauge Inventory to help guide the conversation.

Here is a video (2:18) demonstrating how you can easily upload the fixed file via the Ally tool:
