Flex workshops at DVC

Earn flex credit while taking one of the many 1-2 hour workshops DVC offers to provide faculty with up-to-date training on instructional technology.  Monthly workshops rotate days/times to best accommodate our faculty's busy schedules.  Typical workshops include:

  • Canvas for Face-to-Face Classes
  • Structuring Canvas for Online Classes
  • Regular, Substantive Interaction in Online Classes (Get Beyond the Plug-and-Play!)
  • Canvas Gradebook for Face-to-Face Instructors
  • Advanced Canvas Gradebook, Rubrics, & Speedgrader
  • New Teaching Methods for a Smart Classroom

Flex courses through CCCCD Teaching Academy

The Academic Senate Council, in collaboration with the district-wide Professional Development Committee, offers faculty an opportunity to share their expertise and learn from one another through the CCCCD Teaching Academy. Faculty who enroll earn either 20 hours of flex credit or .5 upper division units for salary advancement by completing a 20-hour, 4-week course during the 2018-2019 academic year.  Previous and future courses include:
