Information regarding the online chemistry assessment is below.
This message will be updated as changes to the shelter-in-place occur.
Please note: DVC no longer offers the standardized testing for English and math.
DVC has two campuses, Pleasant Hill and San Ramon. It is very important that you pay close attention when scheduling an appointment as to which campus you made your appointment at.
If you require extra time or other accommodations for a disability, please register with DVC's Disability Support Services office before scheduling an assessment (Student Services Center, room 248, phone: 925-969-2185).
Please note: DVC does not release placement results to other schools. See our policies for more information.

CHEMISTRY ASSESSMENT
The chemistry assessment is for students who have already taken beginning chemistry
courses and would like to skip Chemistry 108 and enroll directly into Chemistry 120.
Chemistry assessment details
Assessment type: multiple choice
Questions: 44 questions
Time limit: 45 minutes
Re-assessment policy: the chemistry assessment may be taken once per term
Math requirements: Math 120 is required for enrollment into Chemistry 120.
Do I have to take the chemistry assessment?
The chemistry assessment is only required for students who wish to skip Chemistry
108.
Students may not be required to take the assessment if they have:taken the assessment
at DVC or any other California Community College within the last two years.

the exemptions listed above.
The Assessment Center has a Chemistry sample questions available to students. Please review your high school curriculum or stop by the DVC Book Center to review the textbook used in Chemistry 108.
How do I get my assessment results?
You will be given a printed hard copy of your results after you complete your assessment.
Your assessment placement results will be available online on InSite within 24 business
hours of completing the assessment.

Please note: Assessment Center staff cannot give results over the phone, mail, fax, or email.
